New Trail System Behind Peakview Park

As some of you may know, the Cherry Creek Vista Park and Recreation Board has been working for some time on obtaining the necessary easements to connect our community trail system from Peakview Park to the new steel bridge over Cottonwood Creek that leads to Windemere Park, and ultimately the Cherry Creek State Park. The good news is that these easements have been obtained, and they are now working to gain funding to complete the project via various grant applications. Please CLICK HERE to download a copy of the flier from CCVPRD soliciting community support letters for this effort. Please help us connect our trail system and improve our community!!!

2011 HOA Dues Drive

Dear Neighbor,
As your Homeowners Association (HOA) President, I want to thank everyone who has supported the HOA with a contribution of their association dues.  Your support has made Cherry Creek Vista South one of the most desirable neighborhoods in south Denver.  The best news is that association dues are only $25 a year.
Nearly every year, the HOA uses contributions for popular activities such as:
·        Pancake Breakfast;
·        Movie Night at the Park;
·        Spring Clean-Up Dumpster Day;
·        Landscape maintenance;
·        Assisting with various neighborhood concerns (e.g. Centennial Airport); and
·        Covenant control and architectural review.

Additionally, the HOA performs improvements to our neighborhood.  For example, The HOA improved the entrance at Havana and Maplewood with new signage, lights, and plantings.

With your support, the HOA may be able to do additional events/improvements in the future such as:
  • Improve lighting and signage at all entrances;
  • Provide holiday lighting and decorations at entrances;
  • Put on additional events like a coffee and bagel morning, garden walks, or pizza nights;
  • Snow removal on certain sidewalks; and
  • Additional landscaping.
Again, thank you to everyone who has made a membership contribution of $25.  If you have not yet done so, you may do so by mail or PayPal (see website at www.ccvshoa.com).  Any contribution collected between July 2010 and December 31, 2011 will go toward the fiscal year 2011.  Beginning January 1, 2012, dues will be on a calendar year basis.
Sincerely,

Pam Lukes
President, Cherry Creek Vista South Homeowners Association

Summer Update

Hello Neighbors!

Summer is upon us, and we would like to send out a message to everyone as we have a few updates to share.

1. Please enjoy the pool and parks! We will be hosting our Movie Night in Orchard Park on August 20th. The party will be combined with daytime events at the CCV pool, so plan on an all day adventure at the pool and park. Please visit the website and vote on the movie selection before August 1st.

2. As usual, summertime mischief leads to an increase in night time crime. Please be sure to lock your car doors at night and keep a light on outside to deter break-ins.

3. The CCV Parks and Recreation Board has been working hard on trail system improvement grants for connecting Peakview Park to Windamere Park. Construction is likely to begin this year, we'll keep everyone informed as CCV budgets are solidified and contracts are let.

4. Our web service has released a new feature that will allow you to "subscribe" to email notifications when we update the site, instead of having to send mass email's like this one. This will give you the power to subscribe/unsubscribe to our updates and make it easier and more secure for us to communicate with one another. Since you are receiving this email, you have essentially "subscribed" to our updates, so we have included you on the new service. Please expect to receive a confirming email from the service. Please reply to confirm your subscription if you wish to continue to receive updates from us. Alternatively, you can subscribe at any time on the website.

5. Our next board meeting is on 7/20 at 7pm at the office building south of 7-11 at Peakview and Dayton. Please attend if you like.

6. We will be switching our annual dues drive to coincide with the calendar year. So this year, you will receive our dues reminder in August (as usual) and, going forward, it will come in January in order to avoid confusion.

Thanks! Again, please expect a confirming email from our subscription service and subscribe to continue receiving updates from us going forward.

MISSING DOGS!

Yesterday's storm scared 2 dogs out of their backyard. One is a white Great Pyrenees named Boss and the other is a silver Labrador named Boomer. Both are very sweet dogs. The Owner's have been looking diligently for them but have not had any luck. The dogs aren't wearing their tags so if they are found, the Owner's info isn't attached to them. Please contact the HOA or the Owner's (listed below) if you have any suggestions or hear anything.

Pancake Breakfast!!!

It's spring again and we are all a little more motivated to spend some time outdoors. In an effort to help neighbors get reacquainted, hopefully meet some new neighbors, and welcome new residents, your HOA will be hosting our Annual CCVSHOA Pancake Breakfast. Anyone interested in volunteering to help should contact Stacey Hilzer ( staceyhilzer@comcast.net ). In order to utilize our park to the fullest, look for the event to be held on the field and at the gazebo on the east end of the park instead of in the parking lot. Also note the event on the calendar. Thanks!

Join us at Peakview Park from 8:00am to 10:30am on Saturday June 4th.

This is a great time to pay your dues so remember to bring your checkbook!
